Kathy is a Melbourne based artist whose art practice inlcudes printmaking, painting, collage and ceramics.

Kathy has her collage 'Forest Dreaming'  published in Issue 15 of Circle Spotlight Contemporary Art Magazine.

Kathy has recently returned from Moscow where she was part of 'Motherhood - Hope for the World' organised by the  International Women Artists' Federation.

Kathy was a finalist in the 'Library Artists' Book Award Exhibition' at Many Art Gallery and Museum.  Kathy also had a piece  in 'disCOVER' an exhibition of artist books at Amegilla Gallery, Bruthen Victoria. 

In 2017-2018 Kathy had a two year artist in residency at Caritas Christi Hospice in Kew.  This residency is sponsored by St Vincent's Hospital.  Kathy works at the Box Hill Community Arts Centre as a tutor and in the Art's Centre Office as a part-time arts administrator.

To celebrate the St Vincent's Hospital Artist Residency Program Kathy and several other past and president artists-in-residence are exhibiting their work in Residency at St Vincent's Gallery.

In 2018 Kathy was part of a selected group show, Poetry of Place at the Town Hall Gallery Hawthorn.

From November 2017 through until February 2018 Kathy had a solo show, Landscapes at St Vincent's Gallery, Daly Wing, St Vincent's Hospital Fitzroy Melbourne.

In June 2017 Kathy had two of her artist books in the Whitehorse Artspace exhibition 90 x 90: 90 Artworks from 90 years of collecting.

In May 2017Kathy exhibited at Tacit Gallery, 312 Johnson Street Abbotsford, Melbourne.  Upon Reflection is Kathy's latest body of work depicting the Yarra River as it winds it's way through inner Melbourne.  The paintings portray  the remnant native bushland along the river banks, the surrounding parklands and the river itself with the subtle and often ambiguous reflections of the surrounding landscape and skies.

Kathy and Box Hill artist Roma McLauglin had a joint exhibition at Quadrant Gallery Hawthorn 3-6 September, 2015. The exhibition 'Complementary' included paintings, prints, ceramics and paper-cuts.  The exhibition was opened by Gordon Morrison Director, Art Gallery of Ballarat. Kathy travelled to Italy in May 2016 to take part in an artist in residency program at Arte Studio Ginestrelle. During this residency Kathy drew and painted the beautiful Umbrian landscape as well as immersing herself in the rich history and culture of Italy.

In September and October 2014 Kathy took part in an Artist-in Residency Program in Vallauris in the South of France. Vallauris is a town with a rich tradition of welcoming ceramic artists from around the world, the most famous being Picasso who spent several years decorating ceramics made in the village.  Kathy made ceramics, prints and drawings whilst in Vallauris as well as exploring the region with its many old cities, villages, museums and galleries.

Kathy travelled to Mongolia in July 2014 to be part of an international exhibition of women artists.  The exhibition, Her Presence in Colours XI, was held in the capital Ulaanbaatar and consisted of a week of cultural and festive events. 

Kathy had a solo show After Rain, an exhibition of paintings, prints and ceramics at Louey & Lane Gallery, Glen Huntly November 13 - December 3, 2013.

In July 2013 Kathy received  the Ken West Award from the Alcove Art Shop at Box Hill Community Arts Centre.  She used  the money from this award to help fund her solo exhibition at Louey & Lane Gallery in November 2014.

Kathy was an award winner in the Acquisitive Ceramic Award, 2013, Whitehorse Art Space, June 27 - August 3, 2013. Kathy's artist book installation Modern World was selected as a finalist in the 2013 Libris Awards, The Australian Artists Book Prize at the Artspace Mackay from 10 May until 30 June,2013.

Kathy was a finalist in the The Borough of Queenscliffe's 150th Anniversary Art Awards.  Her lino print 'Summertime and the living is easy....'was  exhibited at Salt Contemporary Art, Queenscliffe until May 19, 2013.  

In June 2012 Kathy went to Vietnam to participate in Her Presence in Colours X - International Women Artists' Exhibition at the Ho Chi Minh Fine Art Musuem. For more information:

Two of Kathy Fahey's artist books were in the exhibition Books.....beyond words evolution, the second Award for Artist Books at the East Gippsland Art Gallery, 6 August - 3 September, 2011. One of these books, Modern World, A Trilogy,received a Merit Award at the opening night on August 6.

In early 2011  The Manly Library purchased Streetscape, an artist book by Kathy Fahey which was selected and exhibited in the Manly Library Artist Book Award, 2011. Kathy Fahey had an artist book in the Whitehorse Art Space exhibition Ephemeral by Nature - Lasting by Design, 1 June - 9 July, 2011. The piece exhibited in the above exhibition has been purchased by the City of Whitehorse for their Art Collection.
