'Coming out of Covid' is an acrylic painting on paper portraying two quintessential elements of the Australian landscape, wattle trees and burnt eucalyptus.
This painting depicts a field of young wattle saplings whose yellow blossoms are a beautiful contrast to the black trunks of burnt eucalyptus trees. It is the very burning of the trees that promotes the seeding and growth of the saplings. These saplings, growing in remnant native bushland in Melbourne are a symbol of hope during Covid 19 Lockdown.
